Louisiana School for the Deaf is currently located on 116 acres of land just south of LSU at 2888 Brightside Lane. There are 22 major buildings on campus: school/classroom buildings, dormitories, administrative areas, auditorium, Physical Education Complex, Student Center, cafeteria, warehouse and others.
From the LSD football stadium there is a clear view of "Death Valley," the LSU stadium. Our Physical Education Complex (PEC) has an Olympic-sized swimming pool, two gymnasiums, a weight room, racquetball courts, a bowling alley, locker rooms and office space. The auditorium is specially equipped with cameras, projectors and large screens to make it possible for persons sitting in the back of the room able to understand what someone on stage is signing.
During the summer of 2009, the Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired (LSVI)joined us on the Brightsidecampus.
