Who can come: Deaf or hard of hearing children (PPEP, ages birth to 5) and their family members! Former PPEP students are also welcome to join and meet some new friends. Deaf community members and select guests are also welcome--we invite our students' service providers as well.
Cost: Our events are always free, but admission may be charged at select locations we visit (like the zoo), so be sure to check before you go!
Note: Should an event be cancelled or moved due to weather, COVID-19, or other unexpected events, information will be posted here on the website and on our social media pages, linked below. Our social media pages are updated the fastest, so check there first!

Declare Your Interest Here!
The Louisiana School for the Deaf is beginning to collect information to contact families throughout the state that are interested in their deaf or hard of hearing child attending a FREE summer program in American Sign Language (ASL) and English. Official enrollment forms will be sent upon contact.

This program will take place starting June 6th and lasts through June 23rd; students staying in the dorms will arrive on the 5th. The school is located in Baton Rouge, LA, and students are eligible to stay in the dorms for free if they live beyond a 25 mile radius from the school. The program is subject to COVID restrictions in place at the time of the program.

Who can attend:
ANY deaf or hard of hearing child living in Louisiana between the ages of 3-22. Students above 18 must be enrolled in a K-12 setting.

Administrators and teachers: Please share this form with the families you serve, so that they may be able to indicate their interest. When we all support our students' language development, they get to reap the benefits, and we get to see their growth at home and at school!

DEADLINE: Please submit all information for all interested students by April 8th, 2022. Spots for the program, lodging, and transportation are ALL first come, first serve and there is limited availability, so apply ASAP! All interested families will be contacted on a rolling basis depending on space. The sooner you apply, the better. Official enrollment forms will be sent at a later date -- for now, help us gather the information we need to be able to host you!
