Special Olympics
The Capital Area Special Olympics Track and Field events were recently held on the LSD campus. Some of our students enjoyed competing against other "special athletes" from Ascension, East and West Baton Rouge, Feliciana, Iberville and Pointe Coupee parish schools. Events included throwing, standing long jump, running/walking, and wheelchair slalom (obstacle course with cones). Smiles were abundant as athletes took part in the games and proudly displayed their ribbons of achievement. Thanks to all the individuals who helped make this a great experience for both students and adults!
