Deaf Action Centers are regional resource centers for deaf and hard of hearing citizens. They provide information and referral services, advocacy, community education, interpreting services and distribute equipment.
The Louisiana Commission for the Deaf (LCD) sponsors the program through which equipment is distributed. There is no charge to qualified deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or speech impaired individuals who live in Louisiana. Available equipment includes text telephones (TTY/TDD), telebrailler/braille phones, voice carryover telephones, telephone signaling devices and amplification equipment. Contact the nearest distribution center for more information. The phone number for the Louisiana Commission for the Deaf (LCD) is (800) 256-1523. Please do NOT call our school about this equipment program; we publish this information on our website as a courtesy, but we are not a distribution center.
Consult the "Deaf Action Centers" page in this section of our website for a list of regional service centers.
