Sign Language / Interpreting Services

Through the Sign Language/Interpreting Services Department, LSD provides interpreting services for students who participate in mainstreaming or in various off-campus activities. Highly skilled interpreters facilitate communication at  meetings, performances, campus events and programs, extracurricular activities, IEP meetings, and other events across the campus and in the community.

This department coordinates the Sign Communication Proficiency Interview (SCPI) process, which assesses the sign communication skills of staff members. Sign language classes are provided for staff members and interested members of the community. (See the Sign Language Classes page in the Outreach section.)
