Information Systems

In this age of computers and the Internet, our Information Systems Department provides critical services to students, faculty and staff. People are only half joking when they ask, "What did we do without these visual presenters? How did we take care of business before e-mail? How did we live without the Internet?"

We are very fortunate at LSD, especially with regard to technology. We have SMARTBoard interactive whiteboards in every classroom, in dormitory areas and in meeting rooms. Every one of our academic classrooms exceeds the criteria for the "model classroom" label. Our teachers have class websites and use a web-based lesson planner. 

We have a truly functional Intranet and website. There are videophones in many offices. Our new Video IP system is nearing completion. This new system will make distance learning projects more feasible and to enhance school communications. Video is the medium of choice for today's students, and LSD is providing students the access they need to communicate with each other and with their world.
