Parent-Pupil Education Program
The Parent-Pupil Education Program is a free statewide outreach service which serves families of children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing from birth through 21 years of age.
LaHear Coordinators (formerly called Parent Advisors) are located in different regions of the state. These skilled professionals provide family-centered early intervention to assist parents in enhancing natural interaction and communication with their child. Families are offered instruction, information and support to assist them in meeting the unique needs of the hearing-impaired child.
Resources services are also provided to professionals, community members and families of hearing-impaired children attending school in their home parishes.
